"Steambooster"

Steam-hybrid-rocket-propulsion for groundeffect-vehicles (1999)

The “Steambooster”-rocket-propulsion-system uses the short time thrust of heated steam as a launch-system for groundeffect vehicles. These vehicles face high drag in the start-phase because water has a much higher density than air. So it is not economical to have a big engine which is used for starting the vehicle but only needed partially in flight mode. Ste steam-hybrid-drive is an ideal solution for this task.
